That I have run in a HALF MARATHON!!!!! :)
Chelsea and I can also officially say that we ran the ENTIRE thing, without stopping!!!!!! Don't believe me? Check it out for yourself: http://las-vegas.competitor.com/liveresults/
That is 13.1 miles, in a time of 2 hours and 39 minutes.
Might I mention our goal was to be around 3 hours?
Wow. Talk about a feeling of accomplishment!

Having been training since July, Chelsea (friend from work) and I headed to Vegas for the long awaited Las Vegas Rock 'N Roll Half Marathon on Friday after work. Being the party animals that we are, when we got there, we took a short walk around the hotel (and down the strip) and went, well, to BED! :)
Saturday morning, we got up and headed to Mandalay Bay (hotel), where we checked in for the half marathon.

After check-in, we walked around the "Exp0," basically huge shopping area set up with running gear and fun places to take pictures. We of course took full advantage of this :)

After some sight seeing, we headed back to the hotel, played on the slots (I won $5!), relaxed and headed to the Olive Garden - the perfect place to CARB LOAD! :)
After waking up at 5am on Sunday morning, we got all ready to go (neon green shirts, green hair, green face paint - the works!) and headed down the strip! With a start time around 6:30am and a temperature of 30 degrees, we were READY to begin our adventure!

The Vegas sign, which we ran by twice, between miles 1 and 2 (still smiling):

SOO EXCITED TO SEE THE MILE 11 SIGN!!!! (look to the right of my head):

Even MORE excited to see MILE 12 ahead!!!:

FINISH LINE! And Chelsea putting on her LONG AWAITED finishers medal:

After finishing the race, I grabbed my phone and noticed a message from my Mom sent about 2 minutes after I crossed the finish line: "Nice hair!" How did she know how my hair looked?! S
So I gave her a call, and she told me she watched me cross the finish line on a live webcam! How cool is that? Know what is even COOLER? The fact that she somehow actually recorded the video and sent it to me, and now YOU get to see, too! :)
After a few seconds, watch for the girls waving their hands around wearing all the GREEN! :)
We are wearing white scarves.

Phew. After calming down from all of the craziness and excitement of the morning, we headed to the Wynn hotel for a lunch Buffet. YUMMY!!!!
After lunch, we headed to the airport and awaited our flight home.
Talk about a HECK of a LONG day. But an AMAZING day.
One that has also given me more physical pain then I have ever felt in my life.
Talk about being SORE!!!!
But it was WELL worth every singe last painful step. :)
